Appeasing my Monday morning anxiety with leisurely reading and a macchiato. And a croissant. Healthy, yes I know.
I told myself I wouldn’t buy any more magazines this month because they’re rather costly but I had to get this one because I’ve been so eager for Vanity Fair’s issue with Ms. Audrey ever since they previewed it on their Instagram.
Also, as I sit here on my phone writing this, I’m hearing these two girls beside me loudly gossiping away and making the most bitter remarks about people they know. Really wish people didn’t do that. Must be unpleasant to start a day with such bitterness and contempt. It’s counterproductive and unsettling, really.
And generally I think it’s important for people to try and remain above petty drama as much as possible. It’s one of the things I’ve learned not to wallow in, let alone tolerate - even it means reclusion. It’s not worth time or energy when there are bigger things at hand.
Living on a student’s budget, I don’t often have the luxury of buying products towards the more sumptuous end of the spectrum.
So, it’s a given that I get a little excited when I do have the opportunity.
Some weeks ago, I ripped my favourite black pants and since then I’d been looking for a pair of the likes.
Being “somewhat” short and petite its pretty difficult to find a good pair of jeans that fit properly.
Luckily, as I wandered about the city after school, I stumbled upon an Acne Studio that my sister and I have long been wondering about.
I was pointed to their new Skinny 5 collection and was immediately seduced.
Being the perfect fit (and Acne being renowned for the subtle luxe of their denim wear), I had to get a pair to replace my ripped ones.
I also found a casual summer black dress of a seamless jersey material, combined with a two-net pattern - a big and small - which I simply couldn’t let go…
I’m guessing it has the capability of looking rather improper so I need to find something to put underneath it.
Obviously don’t want to go parading about with see-through net on my backside.
I’ve been planning to make some small but significant changes to my room for quite some time now but only recently did I get the chance to actually follow through with it.
Saturday, my parents went furniture shopping for our house so I decided to tag along and I found exactly the things that I’ve had on my mind for the longest time.
I also found the funniest pillows which were definitely must haves. One was purple and leather with a “snake-like” (?) texture and the other was rectangular and furry. I thought they juxtaposed each other so naturally they’d have to be placed together.
Also, I’m a magazine hoarder.
Goal for this week: to detox my body
I feel like March hasn’t exactly been the ideal month for me. It’s definitely been a step down from February.
Since I “have a week off” from school and work I thought I could use it to clean out my system and sort of get myself together - to get rid of all the toxic stuff that I feel has been impeding me. Shortly, cleanse out my life and continue the healthy lifestyle I was leading before March happened.
So other than catching up on reading and everything else I’ve fallen behind on, the plan will mostly be to eat clean and do yoga.
(My workout must haves, btw)
Currently trying out this skincare line - because stress from school is slowly and surely destroying my skin. Crossing my fingers for this because I’m desperate for flawless skin again. ):
Also couldn’t resist getting my hands on the new issue of Elle, despite Rihanna being on the cover. To put it lightly, I’m not exactly thrilled she’s the cover girl. BUut, oh well! Can’t resist a new issue.
